  • Stress: – At the chronic stage of stress, your skin produces androgen hormones that elevate oil production. Whether it is physical or mental stress, in both the cases, your skin will affect.

Homemade Remedies to get rid of oily skin

Tired-off with all the cosmetic products that promises you to offer oil-free clean and clear skin texture but fail to achieve any productive results. Then, forget about those chemically treated products and try out natural homemade remedies that hold the goodness of nature and offers effective results in maintaining oily skin without any side effects.

  • Clay Mask

Clay mask or multani mitti is an effective face mask that helps in cleaning the dirt and impurities from our skin and makes it smooth and supple. Add rose water and some drops of lemon water in multani mitti. Blend it well to make a smooth paste and apply it on your face and neck. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse it off.

  • Egg white

It works effectively in treating blemishes and tightening of open pores.  Mix egg white with one tbs of honey or lemon juice. Stir it and apply as a mask on the face. Wash it after 15mins with warm water.

  • Cucumber

It comprises of high amount of minerals, vitamins, potassium and magnesium, which is beneficial for oily skin. Due to its cooling and astringent properties, it offers fruitful results in managing oily skin texture. You can rub a cucumber slice directly on your face before going to sleep at night and clean it in the morning with lukewarm water. Apart from this, the mixture of cucumber and lemon juice can be also used on the face. It is also a perfect remedy for reducing sunburn and lighten up skin marks.

  • Curd (low fat) or Yogurt

This works as a natural cleanser and absorbs oil from the skin. Use plain curd or mix it with honey or oatmeal to apply on your skin. Get it rinsed out after 15minutes with normal water. This process will refresh your dull skin and make it look supple and radiant.

  • Tomatoes

Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin –C and has excellent cooling, astringent and clarifying properties that helps in preventing acne as well as absorbs excess oil from the skin. Cut a tomato into two pieces and rub it on your skin.  Leave it, at least for 15 minutes and wash it off.

  • Aloe Vera with oatmeal

Aloe Vera encompasses powerful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that control excess oil on the skin as well as effectively works in eliminating acne and pimples issues.  Take out the fresh aloe vera gel and mix it with dry oats to make a paste. Apply it on the face and massage with your finger for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse it off after 15 minutes and see the noticeable results.

Simple tips to maintain your oily skin

By including some simple steps in your daily routine, you can easily control the problem of oily skin:-

  • Wash your face twice a day with oil-free face wash to remove accrued dirt and oil on the skin. Try to use those face washes that comprise of alpha-hydroxy acids, which helps in eliminating excess oil and fights with skin infections
  • Use astringents, or toner that helps in closing your open pores and decreases oil on skin. Choose a toner which is alcohol and acetone free
  • Give special attention while choosing moisturizer for oily skin. Oil free and water based moisturizers are good options for oily skin.
  • If you are going out of the house, then apply sunscreen lotion on the face to protect your skin from the adverse effects of the sun. Check the chemical composition of products before buying it
  • Avoid eating fried food, sugar, chocolate, alcohol, etc. Intake of high calorific food and sweets are responsible for excess oil and pimple problem.
  • Add fresh fruits and vegetable in your diet that helps in maintaining your healthy and glowing skin
  • Take limited amount of caffeinated drinks such as coffee and tea as, it heats up your body system and produce excess oil.
  • The sugar content is high in carbonated drinks, which is again a prime reason of causing pimples on oily skin.
